SEIU 1199 New England Endorses Rep. John Larson for 15th Term

HARTFORD, Conn. — SEIU 1199 New England, representing over 29,000 healthcare workers in Connecticut and Rhode Island, has endorsed U.S. Representative John Larson in his bid for a 15th term serving Connecticut’s 1st Congressional District. The union cited Larson’s longstanding commitment to labor rights and working families as key factors in their decision.
Larson’s campaign has emphasized his support from organized labor, contrasting it with his opponent’s record. From defending collective bargaining rights to creating good-paying union jobs. Its support echoed by members of SEIU 1199NE. “Rep. Larson is always a champion for the hardworking citizens of our state. He stands up for the needs of those who are the backbone of society. From supporting affordable healthcare to fighting for wages that workers deserve and advocating for retirement that supports everyone,” said Stephan Bobb a Mental Health Assistant II at Connecticut Valley Hospital.
SEIU 1199 New England, also known as the New England Health Care Employees Union, is the largest healthcare workers union in Connecticut. Founded in 1958, the union has a history of advocating for healthcare providers and workers’ rights.
